I am an experienced Full Stack Developer with over 10 years of experience developing compelling User Interfaces across different industries including enterprise level e-commerce at a large retailer, a multitude sites and apps for different clients at a large creative agency specializing in pharmaceutical advertising, completely redeveloping the store fronts for a small business’s e-commerce site, and developing an enormous amount of landing pages for one of the most prestegious publishers in the world.

I also proudly served 10 years of active duty in the United States Navy overseas!

Work History

Williams Somona | Senior Front End Engineer

June 2017 - Present

I worked on Williams Somona’s family of brand websites, a huge enterprise application. Throughout my time here was able to contribute to the development of a multi of features including the Store Locator section of westelm.com utilizing the brand new CSS Grid specification for responsiveness across different platforms. Worked with a custom component library based utilizing standard Web Component as well as Polymer.

In addition I was a very active contributor on the following;

Cross Brand Registry Analytics Tracking

  • Architected and implemented event based analytics tracking throughout components utilizing a pub/sub messaging pattern

  • Developed Unit Tests using JEST to test whether elements were rendering and sending expected output to subscriber

Dynamic Layout of Recommended Items A/B Test

  • Developed a component for AB testing the layout of recommended products on our Product Information Pages.

  • Component used a combination of JavaScript to detect number of products, access a JSON API to gather, parse and sanitize product data for display, listen for events and dynamically generate a layout using CSS Grid based on the number of products recommended

Heartbeat Ideas | Senior User Interface Developer

I got the opportunity to work on a multitude of different exciting projects at Heartbeat, to include marketing landing pages, a ASP MVC based CRM tool and a progressive web app for helping people manage their Crohn’s disease. Of the many projects I worked on here are the ones I enjoyed the most and had the most impact on

Face Your Risk ->

  • Lead the development of a scrolling based animated module on marketing landing page.
  • Used a combination of the Greensock Animation Library for implementing animations and interactions, Bootstrap for responsiveness and Angular for state management and form processing
  • Collaborated with a remote UX Design team to ensure an accurate and expressive implementation of their vision.

INVEGA SUSTENA, RISPERDAL VEEVA IREP APP

  • Developed multiple Veeva CRM Applications for the iPad using the iREP platform which is a platform for developing IOS applications using web technologies.
  • Developed a custom internal content management system that utilized a JSON API, Sencha Touch and the HYPE animation library to build engaging slides that pushed the capabilities of the iREP platform
  • Contributed to the development of a powerful Grunt Task that automated the packaging of external assets, conversion and uploading of IREP slides to Veeva’s platform

Brimar Industries | Senior Web Developer / Designer

March 2009 - April 2011

Led a small team of Developers and Designers to completely redesign and rebuild company’s user interfaces for two online storefronts Safetysign.com and Pipemarker.com. Collaborated extremely close with the CEO and Operations Director to develop requirements for redesign, also met with stakeholders biweekly to access progress, demo functionality and adjust implementation as needed.

Product Information Pages

  • Developed of Product Information Pages, Category Landing Pages and Search Result Landing pages by architecting a approach that included consuming, parsing and sanitizing a JSON API, inserting this sanitized product data into these pages quickly, as well as keeping calls to the server to a minimum as the customer choose different options of our heavily customizable products.

Custom Pipe Marker Creator

  • Developed an advanced tool that enables customers to create custom Pipe Markers rendered accurately on screen that also provided accurate specifications to printers.
  • Designed and implemented a user friendly interface to improve the process creating a Pipe Marker
  • Created a function that would take those specifications provided in centimeters and inches and converted those to pixels for accurate rendition on the screen
  • Created a function that used javascript to manipulate CSS 3D transforms to accurately scale text at a sub pixel level when customers choose to go over recommended character count
  • This improved interface significantly reduced customer service calls as well as inaccurate orders.

Bulk Pricing Widget

  • Designed and developed a update to the display of sites bulk pricing display. Utilizing Javascript I calculated the price of each item the customer they added to their quantity input, calculated and displayed the discount they would receive in real time improving a process in which the customer would have to look up the discount themselves.

Condé Nast - Brides.com | Senior Web Developer

  • Developed over 100 landing pages for weekly sweepstakes on Brides.com.

Hertz | HTML Developer

January 2007 - May 2007

  • Brought on for a project to upgrade mark up throughout Hertz.com international sites from CFML to standards compliant HTML.
  • Worked with teams based throughout Europe and Asia.

Us Navy | Information Systems Technician

November 1998 - September 2006

My job in the US Navy was as a Information Systems Technician which was responsible for setting up and maintaining classified communications between our command and others.

  • I also designed and developed and maintained the first official websites for two commands; the USS Fort McHenry and the USS O’Brien as well as developed the internal Intranet for Military Sealift Command in addition to my regular duties
